Alyona Shulima was the event’s moderator of oundtable discussion titled "Subsoil Use in Ukraine: Current Development Issues"

On April 3, 2025, a roundtable discussion titled "Subsoil Use in Ukraine: Current Development Issues" was held at the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Alyona Shulima, Ph.D., Pragma’s Partner, was the event’s moderator.

During the roundtable, participants discussed the assessment of the current state and sustainability of the subsoil use sector, key approaches to the development of internal CRM policies, issues of international reserves evaluation, access to land plots, mining waste management, and other pressing practical matters related to subsoil use.

The event was attended by:

  • Oleh Bondarenko, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management;
  • Oleksandr Semenets, the Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine;
  • Oleh Hotsynets, the Head of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine;
  • Pavlo Bovsunivskyi, the Acting General Director of the State Research and Production Enterprise "Geoinform of Ukraine";
  • Serhiy Bilenko, Advisor to the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy; Y
  • ehor Perelyhin, expert in the field of critical minerals extraction and processing; as well as representatives of business associations, subsoil users,
  • and other industry experts.

"The event brought together representatives of government, business, and industry experts to address pressing issues in subsoil use and explore possible solutions, giving momentum to new discussions and developing concrete initiatives for the sector’s growth. I would like to thank the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for organizing the event and all participants for their involvement and active dialogue," said Alyona Shulima.
