During the recent government reshuffle, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine absorbed two other ministries – the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine and the Ministry of Agriculture. This has caused considerable concern about the future of the country’s environmental policy.

However, with proper attention to the field of waste management, the Ministry of Economy can demonstrate, through a concrete example, that integrating economic and environmental approaches can yield positive results. This includes helping to align Ukraine’s environmental legislation with EU law and giving a boost to the economic development of this new sector for Ukraine ♻️
